Question : Maintenance of NHs and Roads

(a) the number of proposals received by the Government for repairing, maintenance and development of roads, National and State highways, State-wise including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Gujarat;

(b) whether the Government has formulated any programme for repair/maintenance and development of roads including national and State highways in the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof indicating the roads proposed to be developed and funds provided for the purpose during the last three years, location and State-wise including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Gujarat; and

(d) the time by which the construction of road connecting NH to Rawal village, Uttar Pradesh is likely to be completed?

(a) to (c) Development and maintenance of National Highways (NHs) is a continuous process and they are kept in traffic worthy condition depending upon the availability of funds and inter se priority. The details of the proposals received and sanctioned by the ministry for repairing, maintenance and development of National Highways in various states are at Annexure-I.

(d) The connecting road of village Rawal is not part of National Highway.
