Question : PER CAPITA INCOME



(a) whether the increase in the annual percentage of per capita income has been lesser than the rate of consumer-price-index in the country;

(b) if so, the annual increase registered in per-capita-income of the country during the years from 2000 to 2004, year-wise; and

(c) the percentage of the population whose standard of living has came down as compared to the previous year in the country as a result thereof the aforesaid situation?

(a) No, Sir.

(b) During the years, 2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05, the per capita income at current prices in the country has registered an annual increase of 6.0 %, 7.7%, 6.8%, 10.2% and 10.7% respectively, as against the increase of 3.8%, 4.3%, 4.0%, 3.9% and 3.8% in these years in consumer price index for industrial workers, respectively.
