(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. Composite Hill Compensatory Allowance is granted to the Central Government employees posted at the altitude of 1000 meters and above from mean sea level, irrespective of the fact whether the station has been declared as ‘Hill Station’ or not by the State Government. The rates of this allowance with effect from 1st September, 2008, are Rs.600/- per month for the employees in the posts in the grade pay of Rs.5400/- and pay scale of Higher Administrative Grade plus and above; and Rs.480/- per month for those with grade of less than Rs. 5400/-. These rates shall automatically increase by 25%, whenever the dearness allowance payable goes up by 50%.
