Question : Development of Panchtirth

(a) whether Government proposes to developed five places related to father of constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as Panchtirth as a tourist spots;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government has allocated funds to construct Ambedkar Memorial in the national capital; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the status of construction work at the site along with the time by which the said work is likely to be completed ?

(a) to (e): For development of tourism infrastructure in the country, the Ministry of Tourism has launched two new schemes in 2014-15 i.e. PRASAD- Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive and Swadesh Darshan - Integrated Development of Theme-Based Tourist Circuits. Under PRASAD thirteen cities have been identified for development initially, namely: Amritsar, Ajmer, Dwaraka, Mathura, Varanasi, Gaya, Puri, Amaravati, Kanchipuram, Vellankanni, Kedarnath, Kamakhya and Patna. Under Swadesh Darshan scheme also, thirteen thematic circuits have been identified initially, namely: North-East India Circuit, Buddhist Circuit, Himalayan Circuit, Coastal Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Desert Circuit, Tribal Circuit, Eco Circuit, Wildlife Circuit, Rural Circuit, Spiritual Circuit, Ramayana Circuit and Heritage Circuit.

Ministry of Tourism provides Central Financial Assistance for projects identified in consultation with the State Governments/UTs for development of tourist infrastructure under these two schemes. The projects are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, liquidation of pending utilization certificates, submission of suitable Detailed Project Report (DPR) and adherence to the scheme guidelines.

Presently there is no proposal to develop five places related to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as Panchtirth as a tourist spot.
