Question : Facilities to Differently Abled Persons at Airports

(a) whether any steps have been taken by the Government to make amendments in Civil Aviation Rules, 2008 keeping in view the recent directions issued by the Supreme Court;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has taken steps to ensure that any handicapped person is not denied boarding the aeroplane; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): In compliance to the directions issued by the Hon''ble Supreme Court of India, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has amended the Civil Aviation Requirements Section-3, Series M, Part-1 Rev. 4, dated 12th July 2016 issued on Carriage by Air of Persons with Disability and/or Persons with Reduced Mobility by air in order to protect them against any form of discrimination and to ensure that they receive all possible assistance during their travel. Airline remain complaint to the regulatory provisions.
