Question : Fisheries Sector in Maharashtra

Will the Minister of FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING ??????????, ??????? ?? ????? ?????? be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the funds sanctioned allocated and used under various schemes for the Fisheries sector in the State of Maharashtra during the last three years and the current year;
(b) whether the Government has received the utilisation report from the States during the said period, if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether it is a fact that the State Governments are not receiving the sanctioned allocation of funds for the schemes as per their demand; and
(d) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a): The details of projects approved and funds released to the Government of Maharashtra during last three years and current yearunder various schemes for development of fisheries sector in the State are as below:

(b): Yes, Sir. Out of the Central funds of Rs.1521.03 crore released by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Indiaduring the last three years i.e. from the financial year 2018-19 to 2020-21 to theState Governments/Union Territories(UTs) for implementation of various fisheries development schemes,Utilization Certificates(UCs)in respect of the utilized central funds of Rs.995.28 crore have been received. This includes Utilization Certificates(UCs) of central funds of Rs.27.79 crore received fromthe Government of Maharashtra out of Rs.75.18 crore released tothem during the above said period.


(c) and (d): No, Sir. The admissible central funds are approved and released to the State Governments/Union Territories(UTs) based on the viable proposals submitted by them. During the last financial year (2020-21) and current financial (2021-22), the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has released an amount of Rs.1223.96 crore to various State Governments/UTs and other agencies for development of fisheries under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
