MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE)
IN THE MINISTRY OF TEXTILES
(SHRI SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR)

(a) & (b): Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks is a demand driven scheme, implemented under Public private Partnership mode. Funds under the scheme are not allocated state wise. Proposals received from Group of entrepreneurs/Industry associations are processed as per guidelines for sanction. State wise list of the textile parks set up / proposed to be set up including textile parks at Uttar Pradesh is enclosed at Annexure A

During implementation of the scheme, it has been observed that the states where textile ecosystem is strong, are in a better position to attract private investments as compared to the states where such ecosystem is at a nascent stage. Therefore, to facilitate textile parks in such states the Government has revised the criteria in November 2014 by giving preference to the proposals for setting up textile parks in the states where textile eco system is not so strong. A workshop was organized in Surat on 9-10th April 2015 with all state government and other stakeholder for wider awareness about the scheme. Ministry has also held a number of meetings with State Government officials in the state capitals as well as a conference of the State Textile Ministers in new Delhi on 24th September 2014 to assist the State Governments to submit proposals for textile parks under the scheme.
