Question : DISPOSAL OF CASES



(a) whether the Government is aware of the United Slates system where the judges are free to decide the cases from their chambers without oral arguments;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reaction of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Government proposes to limit the oral arguments of lawyers by installing red light signal in the courts to signal arguing lawyers to finish oral submissions: and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to(d) Disposal of Cases in Courts is governed by the relevant rules and procedure framed for the purpose by various countries as per their constitutional and legal framework.

In India, provisions have been made in the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for submission of written arguments and to limit/regulate oral arguments in court proceedings. Further, Supreme Court of India and the High Courts lay down rules and guidelines for procedure to be adopted in Courts giving effect to the relevant provisions of the law.
