Question : Waiver of Loans

(a) the details and the number of farmers whose loans have been waived off by the Central Government since 2014 till date and the details thereof particularly for the State of Maharashtra;

(b) whether the Government has waived off or proposes to waive off the medium and long term loans of farmers engaged in growing the irrigated crops like fruits, flowers, grapes and mangoes and if so, the details thereof particularly for Maharashtra;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor and whether the Government proposes to waive off the loans of these farmers on the lines of loans waived during the year 2007; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Government of India has not announced any farm loan waivers for the farmers all over the India including the State of Maharashtra since 2014 i.e. during the last six years.
(b) to (d): Government of India is supplementing farmer’s income through various means like PM KISAN Scheme, increase in MSP. Further, benefits under various Central Sponsored Schemes like MIDH, RKVY, NFSM etc. are also given.
