THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER ( SHRI BHARATSINH SOLANKI )
(a) : The Planning Commission`s Working Group on Power for the
Eleventh Five Year Plan has assessed a total fund requirement for generation,
transmission, distribution, R&M etc. of Rs.10,59,515 crore (inclusive of private
sector).
(b) : The World Bank and ADB have committed financing Power Sector
Projects aggregating US$ 2655 million (Rs.12,744 crore) and US$1892 million
(Rs.9028 crore) respectively. In addition, Government of India has taken up
with World Bank and ADB for additional financing of power projects aggregating
US$ 4850 million (Rs.23,280 crore) and US$ 1300 million (Rs.6240 crore)
respectively.
