Question : AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA IN SPACE PROGRAMME



(a) whether the Government has any proposal to launch Russian satellites for a global navigational system next year;

(b) if so, whether the Government has signed any accord with Russian Government in this regard;

(d) whether Russia is likely to take part in India`s Space programme including manned flights and joint construction of new satellites;

(e) if so, whether the Government has signed any agreement with Russia in this regard; and

(a) A proposal has been received from Russian Space Agency to launch their satellites for global navigation system in the coming years.

(b) No, Sir.

(c) Does not arise.

(d),(e) & (f)The Government of India and the Government of Russian Federation signed two agreements on December 3, 2004 which open up possibilities for working together in the peaceful uses of outer space including manned flights and joint construction of new satellites.
