Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT(SHRI PRADEEP JAIN `ADITYA`)

(a)&(b): No, Sir. NREGA is demand based and not an allocation based programme. Upto the Financial Year 2008-09, funds to all States/UTs were released by the Central Government to the Districts for implementation of the Act. From 2009-10, funds are being released into the State Employment Guarantee Funds of the States which have established their State Funds from where funds are released to the districts on the basis of the labour demand projected by the districts. In respect of the remaining States which have not set up their State Employment Guarantee Fund, Central funds are released to the districts directly.

(c): No, Sir

(d): Does not arise.
