Question : Linking of Social Media with Aadhaar

Will the Minister of Electronics & Information Technology be pleased to state:-

(a) Whether the Government is formulating any scheme to link social media accounts of users with their Aadhaar and if so, the details thereof;

(b) The terms and conditions finalized/ proposed to be finalized by the Government in this regard;

(c) Whether the Government has issued any order or notification in this regard and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) The likely advantages and disadvantages of linking social media profile with Aadhaar?

(a): There is no such proposal with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for linking Aadhaar with social media accounts of individuals.


(b) to (d): Do not arise.
