(b) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/ being taken by the Government in this regard?

Answer given by the minister

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYURVEDA,
YOGA & NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY
(SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK)

(a)& (b): Ministry of AYUSH has proposed to develop 10% of the total target of Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) under Ayushman Bharat Yojana over a period up to 2023-24.
In this 10% (12500 HWCs), there is provision of engaging AYUSH physicians as Community Health Officer (CHO) on contractual basis in the HWC. These contractual CHO would be engaged only in those HWCs where the permanent AYUSH Medical Officer is not working. The action to establish/operationalize HWCs is being initiated at the level of State/UT Governments.
