Question : Release of STIP Policy

(a) whether the Government has released Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP);
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) Whether the Government proposes to seek comments on the said policy by publishing it in all regional languages;
(d) if so, the details in this regard; and
(e) Whether the Government proposes to table the said policy document in Parliament and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes Sir, a new draft Science, Technology & Innovation Policy (STIP) has been formulated and is presently at consultation stage.
(b) The draft policy is aimed at being bottom up, decentralized, inclusive, evidence-driven and knowledge-supported. The draft STIP envisions the aspirations of a new, future-ready India by ensuring active participation, shared responsibility and equitable ownership of all stakeholders; transforming the national STI landscape maintaining the delicate balance between fortifying India’s indigenous capacity and nurturing meaningful global inter-connectedness.
(c) & (d) The draft STI policy document was released for public consultation in English for seeking comments for a period of one month from 31st December 2020 to 31st January 2021.
(e) No Sir, there is no plan to table the draft policy document in Parliament.
