(a) Whether the Union Government have received
representation from Daman Industries Association for removal
of disparity in Sales Tax Exemption as also exemption of
Central Excise; and
(b) If so, the action taken thereon and the present
status in this regard?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): Action relating to removal of disparity in Sales
Tax exemption can only be taken by the Administration
of the Union Territory of Daman and Diu. The request
of the Association for Central Excise duty exemption to
Industries in Daman has not been accepted.
