MINISTER OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND CULTURE ( SHRI S. JAIPAL REDDY )

(a)to(e): The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has reported that the news item published in Dainik Jagaran on 24.11.2005 which mentions approval of a Plan for Rs.8047 crore for development of NCR including certain highways is not based on facts. The Board, since its inception in 1985, has sanctioned 202 projects with an estimated cost of Rs.8423 crore and loan component of Rs.4336 crore for setting up various infrastructure projects in the National Capital Region. The Regional Plan-2021, however, takes note of the Peripheral Expressway around Delhi consisting of Eastern and Western Expressway which has been taken up for implementation by National Highway Authority of India and Government of Haryana respectively at a total projected cost of Rs.3657 crore.
