THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS

(a) The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports implementsthe following three major Schemes/ Programmes for encouragement and development of Youth in the country:
1. RashtriyaYuvaSashaktikaranKaryakram (RYSK) consisting of seven sub schemes namely:
(i) Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS)
(ii) National Youth Corps
(iii) National Programme for Youth & Adolescent Development
(iv) International Cooperation
(v) Youth Hostels
(vi) Assistance to Scouting & Guiding Organisations
(vii) National Young Leaders Programme
2. National Service Scheme (NSS)
3. Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD).
(b) The funds are allocated Scheme-wise (not State-wise) for the country as a whole, including for the State of Bihar. Details of the funds granted and spent during last three years under the Schemes mentioned at (a) above are given in the annexure.
(c) and (d): The focus area of the above-mentioned Schemes/ Programmes is to develop the personality of Youth/Students through voluntary community service and to engage them in Nation-Building activities. The target of the Ministry under its above mentioned schemes/programmes is to enhance the capacity of young people to assume leadership to help others to live a meaningful life, to develop leadership skills amongst the Youth to make them responsible citizens for inculcating strong character, self-discipline, integrity, positive attitude, commitment to the Nation and strong desire to work for Nation-Building.
(e) and (f): All the above mentioned Schemes/ Programmes of the Ministry are implemented at Pan-India level, including in the rural areas.
