(a) whether the Government has allocated funds to Nagaland road safety councils and committees which are currently at a standstill due to lack of funds, if so, the details thereof; and
(b) whether the Government will monitor the implementation of the road safety policy as notified by the 22 States and if so, the details thereof?

(a) No, Madam.
(b) The transport is in concurrent list of constitution of India. However, keeping in view of the large number of accidents and deaths reported on our roads, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways implements the policy to curb road accidents in the country including the review of steps taken by States Government / Union Territories to curtail the road accidents and road accident fatalities.
