Question : Jai Prakash Narain Apex Trauma Centre in AIIMS

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether renovation work of Jai Prakash Narain Apex Trauma Centre in AIIMS which caught fire in the month of March has not been undertaken yet due to which patients who require to be operated upon second time are not being admitted, if so, the details thereof;

(b) the number of operation theatres rendered non-functional after the said fire along with the present status thereof;

(c) whether there is undue delay in the work of renovation of the said operation theatres; and

(d) if so, the arrangements made by the Government to ensure that the patients are not inconvenienced?

(a) to (d): A major fire incidence occurred in Jai Prakash Narain (JPN) Apex Trauma Centre in AIIMS, New Delhi on 24.03.2019 due to which 5 Operation Theatres (OTs) had to be closed for repair works. However, restoration of operation Theatres (OTs) were started immediately and at present, all Operation Theatres (OTs) in JPN Apex Trauma Centre in AIIMS, New Delhi are fully functional.
