(a) The Designated Authority appointed under Rule 3 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-Dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995 conducts anti-dumping and anti- subsidy/countervailing duty investigations and make recommendations to the Central Government for imposition of anti-dumping or countervailing measures where appropriate. These duties are finally imposed/levied (and collected) by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

(b) Details of anti-dumping investigations undertaken during the last three years and the current year are given below :-.

(c) The shortcomings during inquiry is normally removed at the stage of preliminary scrutiny of the applications. The accuracy and adequacy of the evidence provided in the application are examined and when satisfied that there is sufficient evidence regarding dumping, injury and causal link, a public notice is issued initiating an investigation. Besides the above, the Authority holds a public hearing inviting all interested parties to make their submissions before it. All oral submissions made are required to be reproduced in writing for the Authority to take cognizance. The Designated Authority informs all interested parties of the essential facts, which form the basis for its decision before the final findings are made.
