(a) whether the Government has sanctioned construction of a multipurpose indoor hall under the Nashik Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra;
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof; and
(c) the details of funds allocated and utilised for the purpose so far?

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) & (c) A project of construction of Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall was sanctioned on 18.01.2016 to Nashik Municipal Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs.6.75 crore but restricting the sanction to Rs.6 crore as admissible under the erstwhile Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS), out of which Rs.69,50,000/- was released as first installment. The excess cost of the project over and above Rs.6 crore shall be borne by the grantee, namely, Nashik Municipal Corporation. The Utilization Certificate (UC) for the released amount of Rs.69,50,000/- which became
due on 31.03.2017 was received vide Nashik Municipal Corporation letter dated 19.05.2017.
However, a Monitoring Committee is required to be constituted and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is required to be signed between Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Nashik Municipal Corporation as per guidelines of USIS. These documents are still awaited from Nashik Municipal Corporation. The last reminder was issued on 19.07.2017 for which reply is still awaited. The subsequent installments for the project will be considered for release after receipt of the two documents from Nashik Municipal Corporation.
