(a) Yes, Sir. The Scheme was launched during the year 2001-02.
(b) The Scheme aims at exposure visits of tribal communities/delegates in a group of about 10 tribals having income below poverty line to various parts of the country so that they could be acquainted with the latest techniques in agriculture, animal husbandry, processing of NTFP, Sports, Cultures, small-scale industries, etc. The Scheme also envisages get togethers of tribals from different parts of the country for sports or cultural meets/performances. The financial norms provide for traveling by train 3-tier AC accompanied by an escort officer from the home state nominated by the State Government for a period of 10 days, excluding journey time. The Ministry provides assistance on 100% basis.
