Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE)
IN THE MINISTRY OF TEXTILES
(SHRI SANTOSH KUMAR GANGWAR)

(a) & (b): Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks is a demand driven scheme and funds under the scheme are not allocated state wise. Proposals received from groups of entrepreneurs/Industry associations are processed as per guidelines for sanction. No park has been sanctioned in Odisha, as no complete proposal has been received.

(c): With a view to encourage and facilitate entrepreneurs to set up textile parks in the country and based on the experiences of scheme implementation since its inception, Government has revised the criteria in November 2014 by giving preference to the proposals coming from states where textile eco system is not so strong, like Odisha. A workshop may organized in Surat on 9-10th April 2015 with all state governments and other stakeholders for wider awareness about the scheme. Ministry has also held a number of meetings with State Government officials in the state Capitals as well as in the State Textile Minister’s Conference in New Delhi on 24.09.2014 to assist the State Governments to submit proposals for sanction of parks under the scheme.
