(a) whether the Government has revised any plan for Eklavya Model Residential School;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government has plan to sanction the EMRS to Shimoga District based on geographic consideration and scattered distribution of ST population as special case by relaxing guidelines?
(a) to (c) As per budget announcement 2018-19, every block having 50% ST population and at least 20,000 ST persons is to have an EMRS by the year 2022. As per Census 2011, there is still 312 such blocks/sub-districts across the country without an EMRS. So, EMRSs are to be set up in these blocks on priority basis. As per Census 2011, there is no block, fulfilling the above said criteria set by the Government, in Shimoga district (Karnataka).
