(a) & (b): Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility of supply of free
medicines for treatment of malaria, dengue, swine flu and leprosy in Government hospitals and dispensaries is that of respective State/ UT government. However, under National Health Mission (NHM) to supplement the efforts of State/ UT Governments, financial and technical support including cash and kind support for medicines is provided based on their proposals.
For Leprosy Multi Drug Therapy (MDT) is distributed under National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP). Separate blister calendar packs are for Pauci Bacillary(Adult), Pauci Bacillary (Child), Multi Bacillary (Adult) and Multi Bacillary (Child) are also available.
The list of medicines for treatment of malaria supplied under National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) is at Annexure-I.
(c): The details of number of patients who died of swine flu in country, State/ UT-wise including Maharashtra during 2015 and 2016 are at Annexure-II.
