Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE
MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

(SHRI PON. RADHAKRISHNAN)

(a) to (e) Yes Madam. Some of the difficulties faced by the commuterson Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur Highway are inter-mixing of high volume commercial vehicles with two and three wheelers and pedestrians, the crossing of local vehicles/road users at undesignated locations and also the haphazard merging/diverging of traffic at entry/exit locations all of which are resulting in congestion and accidents.

To ease out the congestion on Delhi-Gurgaon stretch, a detailed project report is under preparation by NHAI for Dwarka Expressway (from Shiv Murti on NH 8 to Kherki Duala) and Gurgaon Bypass (starting from Ambiance mall on NH 8 junction with NH 236 – linking with NH 8 again to Jaipur side). Besides, the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is also proposed to be developed through a new alignment. It is pre-mature to indicate project details till finalisation of project preparation report and investment decision.
