Question : Implementation of various Schemes in Telangana

(a) the amount which has been released for implementation of various schemes under different municipalities of Telangana during the last five years;

(b) the details of developmental projects being taken up in the municipalities of Telangana;

(c) the allocations that have been made as per the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission;

(d) whether any review has been undertaken to know the functioning of urban local bodies in different metros, in general, and of Hyderabad, in particular, during the last two years; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not,the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA) facilitates and assists States/Union Territories (UTs) including Telangana, through its flagship Missions/Schemes - Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban(SBM-U), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Smart Cities Mission (SCM), and
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) (PMAY-U), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission(DAY-NULM) and Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana(HRIDAY) to improve urban infrastructure and enhance the quality of life in cities and towns covered under these Missions/Schemes. The funds released for implementation of these Schemes to Telangana and details of development projects taken up are given in the Annex.

(d) & (e): The MoHUA reviews the progress of the implementation of the projects, regularly through progress reports, review meetings, video-conferencing with the officers of State Government of Telengana/ Urban Local Bodies to assess the progress and address any issues being faced in the implementation process.
