MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI KIREN RIJIJU)

(a) to (d): The McMohan line between India and China runs between the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and the State of Arunachal Pradesh of India. China disputes the international boundary between India and China. In the Eastern Sector, China claims approximately 90,000 square kilo- metres of Indian territory in the State of Aru- nachal Pradesh. The fact that the State of Aruna- chal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India, has been conveyed to the Chinese side on several occasions, including at the highest level. The two sides have agreed to appoint a Special Rrepresentative (SR) to explore the framework for a boundary settlement from the political perspective of the overall bilateral relationship. There have been seventeen meetings of Special Rrepresentatives so far,. The last meeting was held in New Delhi on February 10-11, 2014. Both sides are committed to resolve bila- teral issues through dialogue and peaceful nego- tiations and in a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable manner.
