STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 145 REGARDING "ROUTES UNDER RCS-UDAN" TO BE ANSWERED ON 29.07.2021. (a): "Indore-Gondia(Birsi airport)-Indore" and "Hyderabad-Gondia-Hyderabad" routes have been awarded in the 4th round of bidding under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) for operations of UDAN flights. Gondia will become a served airport, once the routes get operationalized. (b) & (c): As per the UDAN Scheme, only the unserved (no air connectivity) and underserved (having upto 7 departures per week) airports are considered for providing connectivity. However, interested airlines based on their assessment of demand to & from Gondia may mount flights on commercial basis on routes other than UDAN routes. (d): Since, launching of UDAN i.e. from 21st October, 2016, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), being a regulator, has granted Air Operator Certificates to nine (09) Airline operators under Schedule Operator /Schedule Commuter Operator category. All nine (09) airline operators have participated in UDAN Scheme.
