(a) The number of mines closed down in Karnataka due to Judicial Intervention of Supreme Court (SC) of India during the last five years; and

(b) the reasons cited by the SC to order closure of such mines; and

(c) the details of measures proposed by the Centre to avoid such closure of mines, if any?

(a) As per data furnished by Indian Bureau of Mines (A Subordinate Office of Ministry of Mines), during last 5 years no mine has been closed in the State of Karnataka due to judicial Intervention of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

(b) & (c) Does not arise in view of reply furnished at item (a) above.
