(a) Whether the Government proposes to provide computer software of
Hindi and other regional languages and its distribution in different
departments ;
(b) If so, the details thereof; and
(c) The details of Hindi computer software available in the country ?

(a) and (b) : Yes, Sir. With the objective of free use of the tools and softwares
by the people, the Basic Information Processing Kits (BIPKs) for Indian
Languages are being provided for free download through the website
www.ildc.gov.in.On specific request through this website, these are also
being provided in the form of a CD. The BIPKs consist of Bharateeya Open
Office, Fonts, e-mail client, browser, spell checker, dictionary, transliteration
tool, etc.The CDs for Hindi, Tamil and Telugu have been released for free
distribution. The work for development and release of tools and software for
other Indian Languages is under way.
(c) : The Hindi Computer Software available in the country are word processors,
desktop publishing software, office suite, fonts,code converters, transliteration
tools, text-to speech software,etc.
