(a) to (c): A Statement is laid on the Table of the House.
STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) to (c) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.4223 ASKED BY SHRI C.R.PATIL, SHRIMATI JAYSHREEBEN PATEL, SHRI DEVUSINH CHAUHAN TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 07.08.2014 REGARDING PERMISSION FOR RAILWAY CROSSING.
(a): Railways receive requests from various agencies/individuals for crossing of railway tracks for various purposes including relating to water supply. Such proposals are examined and permission is granted if the proposal is complete, feasible, does not affect safety of trains, and after the party has deposited the required fees and met with all the procedural requirements. This is an ongoing process and Railway strives to accord approval on fast track. As on 30/06/2014, there were 3086 proposals in hand. In addition 326 new proposals have been received since then. Out of these 3412 proposals, 963 proposals have since been cleared.
(b): Data of railway crossing proposals is maintained zone-wise(Western Railway and North Western Railway include Gujarat) and not State-wise. The details of railway crossing proposals in hand are as under:
