(a) whether the Empowered Committee of Secretaries has suggested a number of measures to expedite the Golden Quadrilateral Project;
(b) if so, the details of recommendations made by the Committee; and
(c) the extent to which the said recommendations would be implemented?

(a) Empowered Committee of Secretaries (COS) has been constituted to resolve issues related to bottlenecks in the ongoing projects and for Central-State and Inter-Ministerial coordination.
(b) and (c) In accordance with the main recommendations of the Committee, Nodal Officers have been appointed by the State Governments for inter departmental coordination, MoEF has streamline some of their procedures for expeditious clearances of projects, an officer from Ministry of Railways has been deputed for expeditious clearances of Road Over Bridges, Ministry of Home Affairs has agreed to consider deploying Central Para Military Forces for projects in vulnerable areas, procedure for acquisition of land has been simplified by giving powers to Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways to issue notifications on the standard formats approved by Ministry of Law.
