(a) the number and ratio of women in the Central and State Forest Services both at officer and ranger level;
(b) whether there is a request to set up a Gender and Forestry Task Force; and

(a) The number of women in the Indian Forest Service, is 114 against a total strength of 2763 and, therefore, their ratio is 1:23. The information regarding number of women and their ratio in the State Forest Service at ranger level is being collected from the States and Union Territories and will be laid on the table of the House.
