Question : IMPORT OF NAPHTHA AND SOLVENT BY PRIVATE COMPANIES



(a) whether the private companies are permitted by the Government to import Naphtha and solvent;

(b) if so, the details of private companies permitted by the Government to import said petroleum products during the last three years;

(c) the quantum of solvent and Naphtha imported and the names of the ports where these products were unloaded;

(d) whether the Union Government have received the utilization reports of the said imported petroleum products from these private companies; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Naphtha is freely importable as per ITC (HS) classifications of export and import, 2002-07. An item, which is freely importable, can be imported without a licence by any person/company, while simultaneously observing the other formalities.
