(a) & (b): No, Sir.
(c) Many significant project including 155 mm Artillery gun System ‘Dhanush’, Bridge Laying Tank, Light Combat Aircraft ‘Tejas’, ‘Akash’ Surface to Air Missile System, Submarine ‘INS Kalvari’, Inshore Patrol Vessel, Offshore Surveillance Ship, ‘INS Chennai’, Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette (ASWC), Arjun Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle, Landing Craft Utility, Bridge Laying Tank, Bi-Modular Charge System (BMCS) for 155 mm Ammunition, Thermal Imaging Sight Mark-II for T-72 tank, 25 T Tugs, Water Jet Fast Attack Craft, Offshore Patrol Vessel, Fast Interceptor Boat, INS Kalvari, INS Khanderi, Medium Bullet Proof Vehicle (MBPV), Lakshya Parachute for Pilotless Target Aircraft etc. have been produced in the country under ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Government in last few years.
(d) to (f): In pursuance of the announcements made in the General Budget 2018-19, Central Government has set up 02 (two) Defence Industrial Corridors (DICs) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Tamil Nadu (TN), respectively. Subsequently, six nodes, namely Aligarh, Agra, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Kanpur and Lucknow were identified for Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) and five nodes, namely Chennai, Coimbatore, Hosur, Salem and Tiruchirappalli were identified for Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TNDIC). Defence Industrial Corridors (DICs) are aimed at providing fillip to the defence manufacturing ecosystem in the both states and attract investment worth Rs. 10,000 Crore in each of the DICs by the year 2024-25. Eight State Governments including Maharashtra have forwarded requests for establishing defence corridor in their States. However, no decision to set up defence corridors apart from those in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu has been taken.
