(a): The data on per capita consumption of fertilizers in the country is not maintained in the Department of Fertilizers and also in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare. However, the statement indicating the Per Hectare consumption of NPK and Per Hectare consumption of major fertilizers is enclosed Annexure-I & II.
(b) & (c): The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare and Department of Fertilizers are not maintaining the average intensity of fertilizers use of other countries.
(d): A statement indicating the details of fertilizers consumption trends in the country for the last three years is enclosed as Annexure-III.
(e)& (f): Food grains production depends on multiple factors, viz. climatic patterns, availability and quality of seeds, application of fertilizers, level of mechanisation, availability of credit and insurance etc. There is, however, no clear trend in the growth of fertilizer consumption and food grains production during the last few years as shown in figure below:

While the food grains production was adversely affected due to deficient and uneven rainfall during 2014-15, the All India Consumption of Fertilizers registered a growth of 4.5 % in 2014-15 over 2013-14.
