(a) & (b) : Financial allocations are provided to Central
Universities based on their requirements and the overall
availability funds. Overall there is a shortage of funds in
the educational sector which is bound to find its reflection
in the higher education as well. During the IXth Plan
period however overall education to higher education has
been increased from Rs. 800 crores in the VIIIth Plan to Rs.
2500 crores on the IX Plan which would enable a better
financial situation for Central Universities as well.
