Question : REGULARISATION OF UNAUTHORISED COLONIES



(a) whether the Union Government have regularised some of the illegally built colonies in Delhi;

(b) if so, the number of colonies regularised by the Union Government as on 31.10.02 alongwith their name and location;

(c) whether the layout plan of the houses of the regularised colonies have also been passed in their existing form;

(d) if not, the reasons therefor;

(e) whether the Union Government are considering to pass the layout plan of the houses of such colonies in their existing form;

(f) if so, the details thereof; and

(g) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): No, Sir. The Union Government has filed guidelines for regularisation of unauthorized colonies in Delhi in the Delhi High Court in CWP No.4771/1993 - Common Cause (Regd.) Society Vs. Union of India & Others. The Hon`ble Court in its order dated 27.2.2001 has inter alia directed the Ministry to notify the list of colonies which could be regularised in terms of the guidelines. The Court has also restrained the Government from regularizing any unauthorized colony in Delhi till further orders.
