Question : CORRUPTION IN KENDRIYA BHANDAR

(a) whether Government are aware that the indents submitted by the Government departments to Kendriya Bhandar for the purchase of stationery and other items, where items are not specified by brand names, the Kendriya Bhandar instead of issuing branded items at competitive price issue items of other brands in which they have vested interest;

(b) there is any proposal to go through the Government indents received by the Kendriya Bhandar in the last six months to find out the manipulations by the Kendriya Bhandar therein;

(c) the corrective steps taken in this regard;

(d) whether there is no lawful procedure to quote the rates of items asked for by the Government departments and the rates of those items are quoted where the Kendriya Bhandar has vested interest;

(e) whether some Members of Parliament have written to the Minister in this regard specifically giving instances; and

(f) if so, the action taken in this regard?

(a): Kendriya Bhandar sells the items/brands as per indent of Departments of Government. Where any brand is not mentioned, the items at lowest rate available in stock, is supplied.

(b): No, Sir.



(c): No action in view of reply to (a) above.

(d): The rates are quoted by Kendriya Bhandar at approved rate for available items in accordance with approved guidelines.

(e)&(f): Suitable replies have been given to Members of Parliament in this regard.
