Question : Sanctioning of Research Project by Anthropological Survey of India

(a) whether the Anthropological Survey of India has sanctioned/ commissioned any research projects during the last three years;

(b) if so, the details thereof and outcomes achieved therefrom; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Yes, Sir.

(b) The details and outcome of the research projects are as under :

S.No. Name of project Outcome

(i) Development and Sustainability;
Year: 2017-18; Area/Village covered: 17 Critical assessment of the impacts of different developmental initiatives and its sustainability among different tribal and non-tribal communities of India.

(ii) Community Health, Disease and Genetic Structure of Indian Population; Year : 2017 onwards; Community covered : 35 Health awareness, especially among the tribal communities by ‘Genetic Screening-cum-Awareness Camps''.

(iii) Anthropological Study of De-Notified, Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Communities; Year : 2018-19; Community covered: 50 Generation of detailed ethnographic information and examination on the relation of these communities with the outside world with a view to help in de-stigmatizing them by bringing awareness among the people.

(c) Does not arise.
