(a) whether the reservation of Limboo and Tamang communities who were declared ST in 2003 is under consideration of the Government and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) whether the Government has taken any steps in case of Limboo and Tamang Scheduled Tribes to ensure that Article-332 of the Indian Constitution is not violated and if so, the details thereof?
(a) to (b) A proposal for reservation of seats for Limboo and Tamang communities in Sikkim Legislative Assemble is under consideration of the Government of India. Article 371F(f) and Article 332 of the Constitution of India govern reservation of seats in the Legislative Assembly of Sikkim and the issue of seat reservation for Limboo and Tamang communities is being considered under these provisions of Constitution of India.
