Question : PERFORMANCE OF DAIRY PROJECTS .



(a) whether the Government have reviewed the performance of dairy projects under operation flood schemes launched so far in the country, State-wise;

(b) if so, the details of profit/loss making projects;

(c) the steps being taken to revive the loss making dairy projects; and

(d) the allocation made by the Government for this purpose to each State during the last three years?

(a): The performance of dairy projects under Operation Flood has been reviewed.

(b): During 1998-99, 103 unions/federations were in profit and 70 unions / federations were in loss.

(c): Government of India is implementing a Central Sector Scheme `Assistance to Co-operatives` for the rehabilitation of sick dairy union/federation in various States on 50:50 sharing basis between Government of India and respective State Government. The scheme has been approved during the year 1999-2000.

(d): The Government of India under the scheme `Assistance to Co-operatives` has provided Financial assistance for rehabilitation of Unions in the following States during the years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 (upto 30.11.2000):-
