(a) whether Bhima and signature-Huligudda Lift irrigation Schemes in Karnataka are pending for clearance with his Ministry;
(b) if so, the date on which these schemes were received by his Ministry;
(c) whether these schemes have been cleared; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor alongwith the time by which these schemes are likely to be cleared?

(a) to (d) Bhima and Singatalur (Huligudda) Lift
Irrigation Schemes in Karnataka were received in Central
Water Commission for appraisal in December, 1985 and July,
1998 respectively. Bihima Lift Scheme was returned to the
state government in November, 1988 due to non-compliance of
observations of CWC for more than one year. Comments on
Singatalur Lift Scheme have also been sent to the state
government. The clearance of these schemes depends on the
compliance of observations of various central appraising
agencies by the state government.
