Question : Objective of New Tourism Policy

(a) whether the Government has unveiled/considering to unveil a new tourism policy soon;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the salient features aims and objectives of the said policy;
(c) whether the Government has held any deliberations with the States with popular tourist destinations regarding the said policy;
(d) if so, the details thereof and the outcome and response of the States in this regard; and
(e) whether the Government proposes to also use foreign languages along with Hindi and English at places of tourist attraction like monuments etc. being visited by a substantial number of foreign tourists and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Ministry of Tourism has formulated a draft National Tourism Policy incorporating suggestions received from State Governments, stakeholders, eminent personalities in the field of tourism and general public, which is currently under process in the Ministry.

(e): A list provided by Archaeological Survey of India giving the details of Cultural Notice Board (CNB) Signages in Foreign Language installed at Centrally Protected Monuments of ASI is given at Annexure.
