Question : Mobile Health Dispensaries

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether any Central Government run Mobile Health Dispensaries are proposed to be provided in the far-flung areas as well as in the areas inhabited by the poor in the country so as to enhance medical and health services in these areas;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the total funds allocated to Uttar Pradesh so as to commence services of the above dispensaries in the State; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): Public health & hospitals being a state subject, there is no proposal by the Central Government to run Mobile Health Dispensaries. However, under NHM financial & technical support is provided to states to strengthen their health care system including for MMU/MMDs, for far flung areas & areas inhabited by poor, based on their proposals from the states. The State/UT wise operational status of Mobile Medical Units (MMUs)/ Mobile Medical Vans (MMVs) is given at Annexure.

An amount of Rs.45.22 lakh for the year 2016-17 & an amount of Rs. 5733.72 lakh for the 2017-18 was approved under NHM for the State of Uttar Pradesh for operationalization of MMUs in the State.
