(a) whether the Government has a proposal to promote Ayurveda and other alternative systems of medicines;

(b) if so, the programmes drawn up in that regard ,State-wise ; and

(c) the steps being taken to promote Ayurvedic and other alternative systems of medicines in Rajasthan?

(a) & (b) The Government is committed to promote Ayurveda and other Indian Systems of Medicine. A number of Central Sectors and Centrally Sponsored Schemes are being implemented in this regard for development of educational institutions, promotion of research activities, drugs quality control, hospitals & dispensaries, etc. Financial assistance is given for development of educational infrastructure, teaching hospitals, strengthening of State drug testing laboratories & pharmacies and supply of essential drugs to the dispensaries in rural and backward areas in all the States subject to suitable proposals in accordance with the relevant guidelines.

(c) The Government of Rajasthan has been given financial assistance for development of educational infrastructure, strengthening of State drug testing laboratories & State pharmacies and supply of essential drugs to a large number of dispensaries in the rural and backward areas of the State of Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathic Systems of Medicine.
