(a) the number of National Highways proposed to be taken up for construction during the 2001-2002;
(b) the details of such highways alongwith the estimated cost involved therein, State-wise; and
(c) the ratio of expenditure to be born by the Union Government and the State Government thereon?

(a)&(b) Development of National Highways is a continuous process. Works on National Highways are taken in Annual Plan based on the inter-se priority subject to overall availability of funds. State-wise plan provision for the sanction of new works for development of National Highways for the year 2001-2002 is annexed.
(c) The entire expenditure for the development of National Highways is borne by the Central Government.
