(a) the quantum and value (in INR) of gold and other precious metals imported and smuggled into the country during each of the last three years and the last six months of the current year, country-wise and the current account deficit position of the country during the period;
(b) the steps taken or proposed to be taken by the Government in the matter;
(c) whether the Government proposes to put more restrictions on the import of gold;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the steps proposed to be taken by the government to bring down the prices of gold and other precious metals?
